The following links are to programs that we find useful. We will attempt to update this page regularly but programs in active development often change versions relatively quickly and some of the links may be out of date. Where possible we link to the actual file, in some cases however we may link to the page where the file appears or the developers home page. We hope you find these programs and sites as useful as we do!
Always make sure you anti-virus program and malware scanners are up to date before using any application or utility you download from the Internet. Although the majority of them are written by honest, hardworking developers, there are rogues out there as well. Practice safe computing and be sure to read the descriptions carefully for any file you choose to download and pay special attention to the messages that may appear while installing the program.
Softpedia – is a file repository where you can find applications and utilities for both Macintosh and Windows PC’s. Although Softpedia makes every effort to ensure the files they distribute are safe, you should read the descriptions carefully before downloading and during install.
Portableapps – is a file repository similar to Softpedia except that all the programs and utilities listed are meant to be run from a USB “thumb drive”. Including a full suite of office applications that you can carry around in your pocket and use anywhere.
Avast Anti-Virus is our recommended anti-virus product. The free version is every bit as good as the paid commercial versions. We use it on all of our machines and recommend it to our clients as a reliable anti-virus solution.
